Directions: From Cedartown, take Hwy 27 south to Morton Springs Road. Turn left onto Morton Springs Road. Go to end of road and turn right onto Huntington Road. Go about a mile. You will see Friendship Baptist Church on right and cemetery is on the left behind a house.

Jesse Ammons moved to Paulding County, which later became Polk County, in the late 1830s or early 1840s. He owned 1,300 acres in the Ammons Spring area. His plantation, “Pinehurst Dell,” joined the 2000-acre Young Plantation. It was reported that he bought the property because he felt that the climate around Ammon Springs would be better for his wife’s health.
